The sixth turner in the Ten Turners Turning line-up is Tracy Owen.

Tracy has been turning professionally for 18 years. His work is a mixture of production turning, gallery pieces, woodturning courses in his workshop in Cheshire and a selection of demonstrations around the UK. His most unusual production work to date has been turning two different size wooden formers for spinners on Spitfire aeroplanes. These formers have aluminium spun round them to make the spinners.

Tracy has written numerous articles for Woodturning magazine and also invented the Robert Sorby texturing tool. Tracy specialises in hollow forms and textured work using mainly carving, sandblasting and sometimes colour. Tracy also took part in the first Strictly Woodturning in 2009.

More information about Tracy can be found on his Inspirations in Wood website .
