Key features

Designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Axminster, UK. Using the latest CNC production techniques our woodturning chuck systems are machined from one piece of stainless steel; giving you accuracy worthy of super precision status. Unique to our Evolution Chuck systems, the rear of the chuck is flat and the gearing is fully enclosed within the chuck. This not only helps to protect the mechanism inside but also ensures that the chuck is as close as possible to the lathe's spindle bearings; helping to eliminate vibration and increasing the accuracy of your turning. A square key allows for a more positive engagement with the scroll.

Made in Britain, Axminster Lifetime Guarantee

Made in Axminster, UK

Designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in our state of the art manufacturing facility in Axminster. This gives us complete control in ensuring the chucks we produce are supreme in terms of quality, accuracy, and longevity.

Easy to handle

The 100mm diameter size means this chuck fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, making it easier to handle and manoeuvre.

Resistant to corrosion

All our chucks are manufactured entirely from stainless steel; this eliminates any chance of them corroding, either from condensation in a cold workshop or the sap from green wood.

Easy to operate

Three hardened pinions ensure the chuck is always accessible, from any angle, to tighten with the key. In addition, the key has a square end for a positive location in the pinion and easy operation.

Smooth performer

The 50mm deep design enables it to sit as close to the headstock bearings as the mandrel will allow. This unique, compact design minimises vibration and gives a much smoother turn, allowing for faster and cleaner cuts. Not only is this extremely important when turning large hollow forms, it’s also good engineering practice and does not overload or test the bearings in any way.

Take on a variety of projects

Fully compatible with our extensive range of woodturning jaws and accessories, the chuck allows you to take on a variety of turning project designs and blanks.
